Freedom Flotilla II is about to sail!
And most Canadian media doesn’t think it’s newsworthy.
Let’s show them. Invite everyone you know to join us!

Kevin Neish, from Victoria, is on the Canadian Boat, the TAHRIR,  ready to sail.  Israel has made dire threats from dropping dogs onto the boats to using snipers to shoot the unarmed people on the boats.
We are monitoring live streaming during the time they’re about to sail, sailing, and landing, and particularly watching for any potential trouble they might encounter getting to Gaza.
Meanwhile, except for the Victoria News (congratulate them!) there has been not one mention of this event, which has world-wide attention at the moment – not one mention in our Canadian Press.

Please, everyone, send a note to the editors of our newspapers, at once, asking that this information be made public.  We need to draw attention to the bravery of our Canadian participants, and also to the craven compliance of our government.  You can write your own letter or use the one below.

Remember that letters should be 200 words or less, and that you must include your name, address and telephone number.  Write NOW to all the newspapers you can think of, but in particular to:

Victoria News – editor@vicnews.com (A letter of commendation for great coverage of Kevin)
Times Colonist – letters@timescolonist.com
Vancouver Sun – sunletters@png.canwest.com
Globe and Mail – letters@globeandmail.com

To the Editor:

Tahrir, The Canadian Boat to Gaza
June 21, 2011 – The Canadian Boat to Gaza, the Tahrir, will join a new international aid flotilla and will be heading to the Gaza Strip in the coming days. The volunteers on these boats are all unarmed and each boat carries humanitarian aid to the beleaguered Gaza strip.  No boat carries arms. The purpose of the flotilla is to draw attention to the illegal siege on the Gaza strip imposed by the Israel authorities as a form of collective punishment since June 2007.

Although Kevin Neish, from Victoria, is on the Canadian Boat, as well as other prominent Canadians, your paper has not reported this event. Israel has made dire threats from dropping dogs onto the boats to using snipers to shoot the unarmed people on the boats.

The coming days are critical, please keep us informed in case our brave Canadian comes under attack.

For anyone unfamiliar with the reason for the flotilla, listen to the CBC interview with Israeli journalist working in the occupied territories.

On Sunday June 19 CBC Sunday Morning’s Michael Enright interviewed Amira Hass, who was presented as the “only Jewish Israel journalist living in occupied Palestine.”

The interview was stunning and very brave for the CBC!  If you didn’t hear it, go to
